A case of intradural lipoma of the thoracic spinal cord.

Abstract
A case of intradural lipoma without congenital abnormalities is presented. A 22 year-old female was admitted to our hospital because of sensory disturbance of both legs and walking disturbance for 5 years. Neurologic findings were equivocal motor weakness of both legs with moderate dorsiflection weakness of both great: toes, marked depression of posterior column sensibility and slight diminution of pain and. temperature sensibility below the level of T9, Positive Romberg¢¥s sign, increased knee and ;ankle jerks and loss of abdominal reflex. Plain thoracic spine X-ray showed widening of interpedicular distance, erosion of pedicles and scalloping in the portterior aspects of vertebral bodies from T6 to T11.
Myelogram showed slight widening of dye column and complete block with cap filling defect at the level of the T11 vertebral body. Total laminectomy was performed from T6 to T11 vertebral body. Tumor, located in posterior astect of spinal cord and also diffusely infiltrated the cord, was removed subtotally. Histological diagnosis is lipoma. The patient was discharged with a quite improvement of walking disturbance.
